It all started when I was 3. I was a magical ball of energy, bouncing around the house, when my mentor came to me with a sparkle in her eye and said “What happens when you notice yourself breathe?”.I don’t think I even knew what that meant at that time, but I watched her as she took deep inhales and long exhales and found myself doing the same thing. A calm rush of relaxation poured over me.. I know this now because at 11, I have way more language to describe the incredible, remarkable experience of being a kid who is invited to care for and come into touch with their body in a way that is loving, kind and safe.
Why am I teaching yoga? I want to spread this magic and joy and ability to befriend our bodies and maximize their efficiency to EVERYONE, even those who think they aren’t flexible enough, too busy, or can’t afford it. We can all practice and use it. Yoga means “to connect” and I simply want to create more compassionate human connection in a world that never seems to slow down. I will be doing a 200-hour Yoga-Alliance certified Yoga Teacher Training at @PranaYogaCenter in San Diego this month to become one of the youngest yoga teachers in the world! My mission is to spread the gift of yoga to EVERYONE.Please follow my journey at Tea the Yogi #yogawithtea #teatheyogateacher
